APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS 

RESIDENCY FEES AND FUNDING

 

 

ELIGIBILITY

 

We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and disciplines. The program is inclusive and accessible to artists of all ages, nationalities, and artistic fields. While our main focus is on visual arts, we also welcome applications from performing artists, writers, and filmmakers. We encourage both emerging and established artists to apply; however, all applicants should demonstrate a strong dedication to their respective practices.

 

RESIDENCY DATES

 

There are set start and end dates, and residents are expected to fully participate throughout the entire duration of the program.

Intensive

July 25 to August 20, 2024
August 22 to September 17, 2024
September 19 to October 15, 2024
October 17 to November 12, 2024
November 14 to December 10, 2024

Standard

(33 days) 

December 12, 2024 to January 14, 2025

February 27 to April 1, 2025

April 3 to May 6, 2025

Art Week Extended

(40 days)

APPLICATION PROCESS 

 

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, and there is no fixed deadline. We recommend submitting your application six months to one year in advance to secure your preferred dates and allow sufficient time for potential funding applications. However, opportunities may also arise within a matter of weeks due to unexpected openings. You can expect a response from us within 2 weeks to 1 month after submitting your application. If you are chosen as a finalist to advance in the selection process, we will extend an invitation for an interview with two members of our team. If selected to participate in our program, you can expect to receive an invitation letter within a week following the interview.

 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

1.   Complete the application form, ensuring all fields are filled out.

2.  Kindly forward a PDF containing your CV, artist's statement, bio, and 5 to 10 images of your work to admissions@elsurmx.art. Please refrain from sending individual images; the PDF should be attached directly to the email. We do not access external links, Google Drives, Dropbox, etc.

 

 

RESIDENCY FEES AND FUNDING

Numerous international artists secure funding to cover their residency expenses through their respective cultural ministries or other funding programs. Once admitted, we will provide artists with an invitation letter that can be utilized for funding applications. You can explore funding resources here
